sunsetThe goal of the Healthy Balance Research Program is to better understand the connections between women’s health and well-being, family life and earning a livelihood within Nova Scotia. It is well known that throughout their adult lives, women are more likely than men to experience stress and overwork as a result of their multiple care and work responsibilities. The work of the research teams, equity reference groups, post-doctoral fellow, scholarship award winners and research assistants through this unique partnership program will improve our understanding of the ways in which caregiving is now organized, how caregiving affects people’s sense of empowerment in their lives, and in turn how that affects their health and well-being.
